God has done some wonderful things in our small church (90 in worship last Sunday). For a while, I as the Pastor was leading the music and preaching. But now, we have had three men and their wives who have shown interest in leading music. So we have decided to help train them for not only our worship but to be a blessing to other smaller churches that don't have music ledership. To do this we will alternate the praise teams each Sunday. Coordination and song selection has been resolved by Google Docs. If you don't know about it or its application, email me and I will explain it.
However, three teams leave me with a delima. We have one copy of the IWorship DVDs and MPEGS. However, we have three teams that need to pick songs and practice with the music at home. And of course very little money to work with. How do I facilitate my three teams without breaking copyright law or a lot of cash expenditures to provide music (sheet, CD, etc) for each team member? I thought of two but maybe someone else has this worked out:
1. Upload the music to our password protected webpage for streaming the music for music selection and practice (praise team only). Does this break copyright laws?
2. Make our church computer a virtual network that would allow our praise team members to log in from their home computer to listen or watch the individual MPEGs on the church computer. (possible Drawback: Slow internet connection)
Any other Ideas? |
